Dynamic Parent Teaching in a Maternity Setting


I was delighted to present at this year's New Mexico' Maternity and Infant Care Summit in Albuquerque on August 15, 2019. Because this conference addressed many of the complex issues impacting breastfeeding initiation in the maternity setting, I was asked to share how HUG Your Baby could enhance a hospital's ability to discharge confident mothers ready and able to meet their breastfeeding goals. 

I focused my presentation on two issues prevalent in today's medical literature: "readiness for discharge" and "responsive parenting." Both of these subject are critically important as maternity centers consider how to raise their breastfeeding rates, increase breastfeeding duration in the community and enhance patients' view of the maternity care they receive.
