We had a room full of dedicated childbirth educators, doulas, nurses and lactation consultants. They were interested in the broad picture of barriers which interfere with breastfeeding duration and how these issues can be addressed with a systematic approach to breastfeeding support. Barbara helped participants understand the great opportunity to promote breastfeeding duration during childbirth education. Jan offered ideas about using E-Newsletter with video clips of mothers teaching mothers about how to overcome these barriers as well as understand and negotiate the predictable "bumps in the road" encountered along the way.
